i need some tips on what to do in preliminary hearing on agg assault reckless

endangerment case? i will be representing myself in an upcoming case where i am a co defendant of another guy who has commited an agg assault and 2 counts of reckless endangerment against a guy by shooting a pistol out of the passenger side window and hitting the victims car window, which was not where the victim was, the victim was actually 30 feet away in the opposite direction. anyway myself being the driver of the car i drove off, due to the fact that i was scared and the victim was hitting the car with a baseball bat. so i drove off went to the co defendants house when i received a call that police were on the way to his house from a family member who heard it on police scanner. i then sat on the porch and waited for police to get there. when they pulled up i went out and told them i was the driver and they immediately put me in the car and told me i was going in for questioning. when asked to give a statement i told them i wanted a lawyer first. so i have no statement on record. the co defendant however told a different story. he said that i had shot the gun in self defense, which when the evidence weighs out there was no way i could have, also i was given a firearm residue test which turned up negative as did his. how his did i have no idea. during arraignment the victim came in and told the district attorney i had nothing to do with it and he didnt even know i was there. he told them my co defendant did the shooting. so now with that being said i am still charged with agg assault and 2 counts of reckless endangerment and a preliminary hearing is set for oct 5th about three weeks away. since i bonded out they say i have to get an attorney but i cant afford one, so i am going to represent myself. does anyone have any pointers on what i should do during preliminary? like how to examine witnesses and what to do to get my chages dropped? also the district attorney said she doesnt even know if she is going to pursue charges on me but i am not holding my breath. i need to be prepared in case they go forward with the preliminary. any sugestions will be appreciated. thanks.
