I Need Some Suggestions

You my friend need some Smalls action going on. Fast paced, heavy (but not to the metal degree), and incredible musicianship from all the merabers of a band, not just the guitarist or singer. Here's a few of their tracks, if you're interested I can hook you up the an album or two.

Maybe you will like Last Step too, the more Aphex-ish alter-ego of Aaron Funk aka Venetian Snares.

A few electronic albums you should probably check out...

Junkie XL - Today

^ Dunno if it's progressive house or breakbeat that you mean when you say electronic music, but this is quite possibly my favourite such album. Definitely worth a go.

If you're after something slower, give this a go;

Global Communication - 76:14

^ Excellent, sort of neo-classical stuff, and it's got me through many an assignment for uni.

There's also this one...

The Future Sound Of London - Lifeforms

^ It's much more beat-driven and isn't really neo-classical at all. Very atmospheric, dark arabient stuff. If you're a fan of Mezzanine, you should definitely get this.

And I recommend this album to just about anyone I can...

Amorphous Androgynous - Alice In Ultraland

^ A lot like Lifeforms in mood, but much more neo-psychedelic.

If you want any links just shout eh.

Underworld is pretty awesome - check 'em out if you haven't already had the pleasure of hearing their flavour of electro and you don't mind a bit of techno.

Dubnobasswithmyheadman is my ultimate album for burning the midnight oil... energetic enough to keep me going, minimal enough not to interfere with what I'm doing, varied enough to remain interesting and soulful enough to feel human.

How about some Clark?

I typically listen to a lot of IDM and breakcore while I'm working I guess but if it's hard, fast and good I'm interested in hearing it whatever it is. I'd definitely be interested in checking this one out.

This doesn't sound like what I was looking for in this thread but Mezzanine is one of my favorite albums so I'd love to give this one a listen.

Defiance, Ohio are a folk punk band, but they're much better than anyone else that tries to do that kind of sound. They're pretty fast a lot of the time.
Like llss said, Japanese noise rock. If you like melt banana, you'll like a lot of it. The Boredoms are good, I'd also recommend Coathangers (though I'm not sure that'd be for you). Railcars are some pretty fast music with a lot going on, but they're very very very experimental pop so I'm not sure about that. Smash Your Head on the Punk Rock by Sebadoh is fantastic, got some noise freakouts so if you don't like noise avoid it. If you somehow missed Leftover Crack and Choking Victim, you'd like them.

If by some strange turn of fate you decide you'd like to look into dance music, I've been taking an interest in alternative dance music recently apparently, so I could hook you up with some of the best of that. Sadly, I disappear too often and can't remeraber what I've seen you talk about on here before :/
