I need some help with my exercise bike...?

I've got an exercise bike which I really want to get on, but a few months ago our cat chew through the adapter cable.

I found an old adapter to a laptop lying around, which fits the hole for the old adapter on the bike.

Am I able to use this found adapter or will I blow the bike up?
