I need some help with gardening?

First i would like a suggestion on which tools to use and how to use them. I have a hoe, a till, trowel and a spade. I have a garden area but it was unusused for a while, and it has tons of grass and some weeds. What tools can i use to remove this? It's very difficult with a hoe...

Also whats that tool that looks like a bow rake except flat and you swing like a golf club?
 
You need to have the garden area roto-tilled. You can buy your own roto-tiller, but they're pretty expensive. Check the want-ads to see if anyone will do it for a few bucks.

The tool you describe is either a sickle or a scythe (google them). Sounds like your tools are sufficient.
