I'm doing an essay on Valentine for Ernest Mann by Naomi Shihab Nye. My thesis is "The poet tries to explain to us that poetry can be found in the most ordinary places, but our mind is not open enough for us to realize it." I have started my first paragraph, it's something like this:"The poem, Valentine for Ernest Mann is in response to a request made to Naomi Shihab Nye, the poet, by a man, to write him a poem. Nye uses different figures of speech to explain that, “...poems hide.” They aren’t easy to create, great poetry takes time and effort." I need a little bit more, I don't know what else to say.
