I need some help from you guys on a short story or poem about Aids?

We were asked questions like ''What does Aids mean to you?''

It is a horrible disease which kills millions of people worldwide, that is my meaning down to a tee... and I don't want to write the same old thing because i find them incredibly depressing and not to mention completely uninspired! Any help would be really appreciated

You forgot to mention that it is preventable and thought the situation is depressing it is not hopeless I am sure there is poetry in that somewhere. You are bound to score extra for coming at it from a different angle.
