The intensity of it's dark and haunting call for demons from the pits and chasms to rise and spread chaos upon the night set a chilling tone for any individual. The ending may represent the morning when the chaos is gone, but the rest of the song is a huge ride.
In the Hall of the Mountain King (From Peer Gynt)- Henrik Ibsen
The most amazing aspect of this song is the simple repetition of the exact same part. The reason for it's creepy aspect is the slow and simple increase in intensity with each repeat, until the danger and terror is screaming in your ear.

The passion and accuracy of each and every note simply increases the song's ability to have a creepy or dark tone, as it's allegro tempo and changes from piano to forte keep you guessing what you will hear next.
