I need some decorating tips (:?

so im going to be a junior in high school next fall , & my parents agreed to letting me furnish half of the basement however i please . i was thinking like a night club theme . itll have 3 walls and one big curtain as the fourth . ill have about 400 dollars total to spend on this project . any ideas will be greatly appreciated (:
 
if you want to do i night club theme, then i would paint the walls black or red. if your basement is like mine, dont go with black, go with a lighter color but still cool, think of boy colors, then go to a carpet store and ask for any leftover carpet they have then buy that and lay it down as carpet or as a rug. then put a small bar in the corner or along the wall, with bar stools. if you look at places like walmart or a electronic store you can get smalll tvs for $50 or find everything else really cheap then get a huge tv! then add a cheap couch with a pull out bed with lamp and very small desk on the side for private studying! put curtons as a door with beads haging from the outside of it and maybe from the inside of it 2!
 
are you using it to hang out or as a bedroom?

for a hang out, here are some ideas :)
- black walls (dark)
- red curtain if it's an option?
- cheap disco ball (maybe check party city or someplace like that)
- you can get rugs with square patterns to imitate the dance floor!
- squiggly lamps for a light source, also it's a cool vibe. theyre like 20 bucks at target.
- maybe a black futon.
- you can get those doorway beads (like at claires or something) that you hang on the top of your doorframe (they're like bead curtains) and line a wall or part of a wall with some, to reflect light and to add some girlyness, I'm sure there are some that aren't too elementary-school-style if you know what i mean.
- if you get to paint the walls, try getting some cheap glitter (29 cents a bottle at micheals) and pour some in your hand, then gently blow it onto the wet paint :)
- cool, funky, comfy furniture! think of mushroom chairs and director's chairs.
- I'm not sure how much a projector costs, but it can mimic a huge flat screen tv if shined on the wall, and you and your friends can watch movies and things on it.
- radio/iPod speakers!!

If it's going to be your bedroom then you can do all that but just add a bed! hope I helped, it was fun :)
