I'm wanting a Blackberry Bold 9700 but I'm in the middle of a contract. My dad (whose contract I'm under) has an iPhone, is happy with it, and is eligible for an upgrade. I'm wondering if he can purchase the phone I want for way cheaper than the mid-contract retail price with his upgrade and on his number, renew his contract with the Blackberry on his number, then take his SIM out of the Blackberry, put the SIM back in his iPhone, give me the Blackberry, and put in my SIM.
Will this method work to get me the Blackberry without paying the $450 it'll cost me since I'm in the middle of a 2-year term?
Will AT&T recognize that I'm the one using the phone and not my dad and charge me for the whole device or totally cut my service?
Will that method even work at all?
