I have severe muscle stiffness/tightness in the lower lurabar region of my back. My chiropracter has told me that I have degenerative discs in this area. I am taking NAPROXYEN medication and attend Pilate classes. This has been going for 2.5 years and things do not appear to be improving. I want to move forward but am not sure what direction to take. I want to be able to join in with my sons activities. Can anyone advise?

Prolotherapy! You can check it out. I had a severe back problem and it helped me tremendously!

>>>>> Hi. Sometimes chiros can be a good deal of help. However, after 2.5 years you aren't any better so I would suggest that you stop seeing him and look for a back doctor such as an orthopedic spine specialist or a neuro with a specialty in spines. That doesn't mean you need surgery. It's just that these are the best doctors to get to the bottom of back problems. Most likely the dr. will want an MRI for starters to see if you actually have degenerative disc disease or perhaps just one disc that is bulging or herniated.

Where the back is concerned, there can be any nuraber of things that can cause problems and that's why a spine specialist is necessary. Please let us know how you are doing.
