I need poetry book help?

I am going to a creative arts school for creative writing next year. And I was given a book list.
Part of this book list includes poetry. And I have to choose one book from the list.
I'm not a big fan of poetry, so i'm lost.
Can anyone recommend to me what is a good intriguing read?

I think that I stated the question clearly enough right before I gave the list.
but, i see i have to repeat myself.

What book do you recommend from this list?

Strong Is Your Hold by Galaway Kinnell or
The Word Under Words by Naomi Shihab Nye
If your not sure which to pick, google one of each and just look at the results real quick to see which seems more your style.
