I am going to a creative arts school for creative writing next year. And I was given a book list.
Part of this book list includes poetry. And I have to choose one book from the list.
I'm not a big fan of poetry, so i'm lost.
Can anyone recommend to me what is a good intriguing read?
Here's the list:
The Collected Poems by Theodore Roethke
Collected Poems by Marianne Moore
The Complete Poems, 1927-1979 by Elizabeth Bishop
Blacks by Gwendolyn Brooks
Strong Is Your Hold by Galaway Kinnell
Breathing The Water by Denise Levertov
Selected Poems by Derek Walcott
Full Woman, Flesh Apple, Hot Moon: Selected Poems of Pablo Neruda by Pablo Neruda
The Word Under Words by Naomi Shihab Nye
The Maverick Room by Thomas Sayer Ellis
Hoops by Major Jackson
Divine Margins by Peter Cooley
Native Guard by Natasha Trethewey
I think that I stated the question clearly enough right before I gave the list.
but, i see i have to repeat myself.
What book do you recommend from this list?
