I need ideas on how to give a pet fish.?

I'm giving a pet betta to a little girl who's turning 5. I've already talked to her mother who is fine with it. Now I need some ideas on how to give it to her. I want her to have something to open at her party at a bowling ally, but I don't know how I would "wrap" the fish while still keeping it safe. I have the setup (tank, pumps, etc) that I was going to help set up at their house and I also have a small container that I feel would be an OK size to transport the betta. Lastly, the party and their house is 2 and a half hours from where I live and plan to buy the fish. I need help to decide the best way to give her the gift while keeping the betta safe and not being too vague with what she opens at the party so she knows she's getting a fish if it's not there.
 
All fish are very sensitive to loud noises, bright lights, being shaken about, sudden changes in temperature and general rough handling. Having it "opened" at a bowling alley is surely a recipe for a dead fish through shock! These are very fragile and delicate animals that should be treated as such.

Instead, get the fish set up at her home as an extra gift when she gets home from her party. Bearing in mind for a healthy Betta it needs a proper filtered, heated tank that has completed the nitrogen cycle, as well as needing weekly partial water changes with dechlorinated water, which a 5 year old will not be able to do. Fish don't make good gifts for kids unless the parents a fishkeeping geeks and willing to do all the work to keep them alive.
