I need ideas for my debate?

OK so we have a policy debate regarding the Selective Service System and whether or not it should be changed. I will be debating for the Negative side which means that I am for the status quo, we don't want to change the SSS, it's fine the way it is. The other team, the Affirmative side, wants to change it.

We don't know their plan which is why we need you guys to just throw arguments at us about why you think that the SSS should be significantly changed which can also mean abolished. As the Negative team, we want to be able to deflect any kind of argument that could be made against us from any angle at all.

Also, arguments that are for the SSS are greatly appreciated as well. I just want to be able to shut down anything that gets thrown at us.

P.S. Just in case you guys were wondering, I'm not for the SSS at all. It's just the side that we were assigned.

Ask them if they are racists. If they reply no, tell them that the civil would have been lost if it weren't for the draft. Next ask them if they are anti-Semites. Tell them that WWII wouldn't have been ended with out the draft.

DON'T say anything about Vietnam.

But in all seriousness, make the argument that some causes are worth fighting for. Defending the freedoms that we take for granted every day may at times call for civilians to step up to the roll of soldiers and fight for what they love.

Good luck in the debate.

I have no idea and I am supposed to be in the debate team.
Once I was on a debate team and I was the proposition for caning should be allowed. I absolutely hated that motion and I had to say alot of nonsensical stuff but the other team acted like they were the best team ever and they pretended to be surprised when they discovered that we actually prepared our speeches. All the prepeation was useless since 1 member of the team had H1N1 so we were screwed and the teacher just allowed them to walk over us and we did not WIN!!!!! I was so sad!
