was only defending himself.? I have only known him for 5 months but I feel like I've known him my whole life.. We used to spend almost every night together and see each other as much as we could in the day.. One night he went out with his friend, I wasn't there, and the two of them got into a bar fight with a group of 10 young adults.. my boyfriend's friend was knocked unconscious and is in critical condition a month later.. so my man was left to defend himself against 4-5 men.. he pulled out a knife and stabbed a few of them to get them off him and his friend.. he saved his friends life! he was scared and left the scene but turned himself in after the holidays. he has a daughter and is a single parent. he is such a good father.. his baby is so smart and healthy and loves him dearly. he treats me like a queen. it was just a bar fight and stupid decisions were made.. but he does not deserve to be in jail. he is a good person. does anyone know how i can write a letter to the judge? i have no idea where to begin.. I don't have any experience with dealing with jail and inmates and judges and hearings.. but i love him and i want him back..

aimeeluc... "good guys don't carry knives'...what kind of crap is that? I've carried a knife since I was 5. I'm 45 and still carry one. although I have been stabbed myself on two different occasions, I have NEVER used my knife for fighting, but would if it became necessary. ....so does that make me a bad guy?

your letter could either be handed to the judge via his defending barrister or solicitor, or you could go into the court, the case reference number should be available on the court notices and then hand it through the court manager, she/ he will ensure the Judges gets the letter, they are all really nice people in court as they meet people on the worst days of their lives.

years ago, i was mobbed by a group and a friend stepped in to help (2 of us against 10) but he pulled out an air pistol and started pistol whipping them - he was arrested, when I gave my statement and pleaded that he basically saved my life (but i could not condone the weapon and I did not know he had it). At his trial - he ws found guilty but given 'time served' for saving me. I've never forgotten him as a good friend.

I hope your successful and he gets out soon.
