i need help with my speaker?

this is the speaker http://www.deffaudio.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=482 ...does 1200 watts 600 rms mean i need an amp that has 1200 watts max and puts out atleast 600 watts a channel? if i get an amp, im probably going to bridge it, since i only have one!

give some advise on what i might be able to use!! thank u
 
that means that the speaker will take 1200 watts but only for a limited time. 600 rms is what the say the speaker will take to last the longest. if you are only putting one in then a 600 - 800 watt 1 channel amp would be good. if you have two going in then a 2 channel 1200 watt amp would be good.
