I need help with my debate in AP US History on The Dred Scott case?

The south thought that since they made establishments "separate" but "equal", that they weren't breaking the law. It wasn't really discrimination if everyone was going to be treated the same. There was no reason to integrate everyone if it didn't affect how well treated people would be.

That's basically the view that they held on the issue.
