i need help with cooking?

i have two joints of ham, i want to do a sunday dinner but i am planning on slow cooking the ham, is there anyway to still get crackling, possibly take it of and do it etc. please help
 
Slow cooking concentrates moisture so you can't get a crackling of the fat with that, you can try putting the whole joint under the broiler long enough to get that on the outer layer, but keep a very careful eye on it, really never take your eye off it, and remove it once its brown.
I'd just do the whole thing in the oven.
