I need help with Car Insurance, pleeeeseee!!!!!!!?

I am an 18 guy, who desperately need to find a cheap car insurance. the reason for this is that my parent (Specially my dad) said that i need to save up more money because he want me to have my own car insurance. i keep telling them that i cant afford paying like 500$ for car insurance that it would be better if they put my car under there's. they keep telling me that if i got into an accident that only one going to affect is them and not me and i keep telling them is not even like that, that i am responsible and i am about to have my basic license and i never had fine ticket or an accident. my job involve moving to different companies and they complain about it because they need to drive me around, so they always ask for gas money. what really piss me off is that they add it me as a dependent person( for income tax, they told me that i depend on them, which mean they are getting more money for me,k and i pay my on will which is my phone and i do give like around 200$ monthly to help them out). do you think this is fair, i think is not, because they are gaining lots of money for me, and they don't want me under their car insurance please help me.
