So, I am probably going to get my grand father's 89 Toyota Cressida, and I want to change the sound system. I have been reading a lot about the whole set up thing I need, but I am still puzzled about a few things. Let's say I get a head with 3 pre amp ports, do I only use one if I use one amp? The amp is great because I want a sub, but if I get a mono I need to plug the other speakers on the head? If I get a 4 channel amp I can plug all my speakers on it but not the sub, so I have to buy another amp then? ( I guess this is why I would need many pre amp ports?) Then again, I don't want to spend many thousand dollars on this, and I'd like to keep it simple as much as can be. What could be good combination of heads and amps and crossovers to assure good sound without spending way too much?
