I need help with bike gears!?

Basically i am interested in purchasing a new bike! I have found the perfect bike which just needs two minor modifications! The first is to do with the tires which is fine. The second poses more of a problem!

The bike i would like comes from Halfords, and unfortunately has grip shift gears which i would love to be changed into rapid-fire shifter pods or dual control brake and gear, gear changers! How possible is this to do and would Halfords do it for me?

Have you ever tried twist/grip shifters yet? They are the fastest shifting devices, for a bike. You can go from hi to low....in one single turn. Trigger shifters have a nasty tendency to bind and jam up. When this happens- you are stuck in whatever gear last shifted to. Dual Control is impractical, because the idea of braking and shifting simultaneously totally defeats the purpose of riding.

Any bike shop can change shifters. All it takes is money.
