Say I have a 300watt rms/ 600watt peak power sub woofer. Will the sub be over powered/ break if I hook it up to a 400watt rms/ 500watt rms/ 750 watt rms amplifier.
I am looking at a 12inch bt series bazooka DVC. in a 12 inch bazooka tube. the amps are kickers. I

you ALWAYS wants the rms watts that you sub can hold and the rms watts your amp gives off to always be equal.. peak does not matter one bit its rms watts that do, and it is a bad thing to over power subwoofers it can result in a blown voice coil

Your amp will not over power the sub. Most car audio components are so over rated in the power output it should be illegal. With the gain knob on the amp you can turn the power to the woofer all the way down to absolutely nothing. Hook it up turn your gain all the way down then your stereo to about 3/4 power then start dialing the gain up to match the stereo.
