A man was to be killed, and the judge told him, "You may not make a statement. If it isnt true, I'll sentence you to four years in prison. If it is false, I'll sentence you to six years in prison." After the man made his statement, the judge decided to let him go free. What did the man say?

"this is not a statement"

??

the riddle would make more sense if it said "if it IS true, i'll sentence you to four years in prison. if it is false... etc"

because otherwise, the judge is just saying if both things are false.. which doesnt make for much of a riddle. if the first sentence is if its true and the second is if its false, then it makes sense for the answer to be "i'll be sentenced to six years in prison"

a typo perhaps?

Prisoner said: "You will sentence me to six years in prison."

If this is true, the judge would sentence him to four years, but that would make it false, so rather than contradict himself the judge let him go free.
