hey..i hv a debate tomorrow...and the topic is QUALITY EDUCATION IS ELUSIVE.
i hv written SUPPORTING it. pls see wat i ve written and tell me the possible questions the opposition cn ask.
heres wat i ve written.
Have you ever noticed the differences of the lives of a moth and a butterfly? While the butterfly is always seen during the day, the moth is expected to come at night. Each consider their own times the best and no one can change that. Both are creatures of God, and though both look a lot alike, they have each chosen different ways to live. It is the same with education.
According to me, Education in the largest sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual. Attaining education is one of the first steps that a child takes towards developing its future. But what is important is to give the child proper education-which is quality education. Yet how would you answer the question, "what is the purpose of education"? If you ask five of your fellow friends to respond to that question, it is likely that you'll have five different statements.
The dictionary defines education as the process of educating or teaching .Educate is further defined as "to develop the knowledge, skill, or character of a person" Thus, from these definitions, we might assume that the purpose of quality education is to develop the knowledge, skill, or character of students. But is that all that is there to education? Many people consider that true, while some others disagree.
Each of us is blessed with unique qualities, and also opportunities though presented differently. It is our own choice of how we interpret it. Each of us sees different things in different ways, Just like it is with education. Quality education cannot be given a fixed definition. What maybe perfect for one, may not be the same for another. It always depends on the seeker to give an ultimate description to what he considers quality education. The meanings various people attach to the word ‘education’ are complex beliefs arising from their own values and experiences. Like some people believe having academics as the main goal is quality education, While some believe having extra curriculum as a major part is quality education and there are still others who believe that having both is quality education. Some parents believe that international education is quality education and some believe local education is quality education. Quality education also differs according to religious belief like Muslims do not prefer sex education although it is necessary because against their religion. And it does not stop at that, since quality education may also vary depending on the laws and rules of the country, for example Pakistan shows Kashmir a part of their country and not India. To them it is quality education, though there are others who may disagree.
There are many such ways where thoughts on quality education differ widely. Its not something that can be described by one and agreed by all.
Hence, I support that quality education is definitely elusive.
