I need help (Verizon)

I am looking to get a relatively inexpensive Verizon phone that will support MP3 and will be easy enough to hack to use the mp3's as ring tones so I don't have to pay for ringtones. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also if you know the hacks to your suggestion that would also be helpful.
