I am currently 21 years old, I have had back pain/ leg pain for the last 4 years. It all started in my right leg with pain in my sciatica. I ignored it for awhile until the pain got very aggressive. My parents sent me to a chiropractor who did no help for me. I then went to my family doctor who said I needed better shoes. The pain eventually went away for almost a year and slowly came back. As it began to get worse I went to a new chiropractor who happened to be my neigrabroador and said he could help. He took an X-ray my first visit, and the results showed I has slight Scoliosis. He began treatment and after about four weeks, the pain in my leg and lower back began to get worse. I decided to revisit my family doctor with my X-ray copy, he reviewed it and decided to put me on many types of meRAB.. Flexaril, Etodolac, Skelexan etc. After nothing worked I returned only for him to send me to get another X-ray at our hospital. This X-ray led him to send me to physical therapy. After six weeks of physical therapy and no results, they sent me back to my family doctor. He sent me for an MRI and after warRAB he told me to quit my job immediately. This sent me into a small panic, he referred me to a neurosurgeon in a city 2 hours away. My first visit to the neurosurgeon hardly revealed anything to me. He didn't even show me my MRI. He prescribed me some Ultram and a Epidural injection and sent me off. The Ultram did nothing for me, and the injection was quite painful. The doctor who gave me the injection prescribed me vicodin with one refill, this helped alot. After the injection wore off, I returned to the neurosurgeon to find out some more info. I was told by his assistant that I had two bulging disc, spinal stenosis, and scoliosis of course. Still after this he told me to take ibuprofen and go to physical therapy and he would not operate on me because of my age even after I told him PT lead me to him practically. I have since not been back to that neurosurgeon. I got a second injection and another prescription to vicodin which once again helped so much. After two months I went to my family doctor because my back/leg pain has increased severely to where I am calling into work. He has ordered another MRI which I will have on Tuesday and prescribed me to Nuerotin and nitrotryptylin which have not helped at all. Even if the MRI looks the same, I want another opinion. But I want a doctor who will look more into my pain and what I am going through. Both doctors I have seen, refuse to prescribe any type of narcotic even though the vicodin I had helped me a lot. I am looking for any suggestions or a good doctor to see on the west coast. Please help! I am very young for all this and want the best solution!
