use examples from Tolkien's books to explain fully why it is accurate to call him a Christian writer. Imagine that you have just told a friend of yours the fact that Tolkien was a Christian, only to have he or she say in surprise, "I've read them, and I don't see anything Christian about them." I read the book and don't see anything christian in it this is my last assignment and I must pass it please help!!

You have to know the bigger over all story from the Silmirillion. It echos themes in the Bible from the creation of the earth, the loss of paradise and the rise of Satan.

Christianity has certain values and motifs. Look them up (even on like wikipedia should be fine) and try to see where Tolkien uses those in his writing. For example, is there any character similar to Jesus or who talks about things that Jesus would talk about?

This is also hopefully the last time I talk about Jesus on Yahoo! Answers. =P

Read The Silmarillion, or even the first quarter of it. You'll find more material there than in LotR or The Hobbit.

However, the theme of LotR is an epic struggle between good and evil - that itself is often associated with Christian thought - examine some of the good vs. evil elements or the light vs. dark elements of the novel, and you should be on your way.
