1299CC umm... anybody know how many miles per gallon that would be =|.... or you need more info? =S
ahh... im not sure its either 40 litres, or 47 litlres... id have to check... but id have a spare 10 litres if that makes a difference =p

Need to know tank capacity to work it out.

But you should - on a long run get about 400 miles to a tank full - perhaps more if the car has been well looked after and serviced with correct tyre pressures etc etc

Fill the tank to the very top and take a note of the mileage reading.
Use the car as you normally do for a few days and for about 200 miles at least.
Fill the tank to the very top again and take note of the mileage and the number of litres of petrol it took to top it up.

Take the lower miles reading from the higher one and divide the result by the number of litres of fuel used. Divide the result by 4.54 and you will then have the precise miles per gallon that you have been getting.

When you find ot what your tank holds in litres then divide that by 4.54 to get gallons and multiply by the mpg figure you got earlier. This will tell you the point where you will run out of fuel from full if you do not top it up before then.

Using this method will tell you what you can do with the type of use you give your car. Using someone elses figures or the car makers claims will not be very accurate as depending on how you drive and on what types of road yours could be very different.
