I need help, niece is abusing adderall

I have a 28 yr old niece who was given a prescription for adderall 20 mg 2 times daily for her ADHD but she is taking 4 or 5 a day and when she runs out she gets them from "FrienRAB" until her precription can be filled again. I want her to quit but she says if she quits cold turkey it would be too hard because of withdrawals. She has been on them for a year and starting abusing them almost immediately. Oh yeah, did I mention she is a RN. How can I help her? Anyone gone thru withdrawals after 80-100 mg a day for over a year?

I am sorry but I don't have any experience with this medication. I just wanted to lend you some support and wish you luck in helping her get thru this. I know there have been others on here talking about that drug before so hopefully they will reply to your post!

I think it's important to remeraber, that while this may be a prescription drug, it's still a drug and can be harmful when taken excessively. The very best of luck!
