hello, I enlisted in the marine corps about 5 months ago, i'm leaving in September. The thing is I don't want to leave anymore, how can I break my contract? I have only sworn in once, the day i went to sign my contract. Also I want to become a city cop. Will the discharge of my contract effect the possibility of me becoming a cop? I have already told my recruiter I don't want to leave anymore, he told me theres nothing he can do and that I had to go. Is that true

I work in a recruiting office....... its not somethingg they promote of course BUT you do not have to go and NO it does not go on any type of record .. NOW they may yell and threaten you about what will happen its a much of crap they are just trying to keep their numbers up.. I am not promoting this however you signed somthing and should stick to your word but no worries the Marine Corps do not want people who dont keep their word anyway like their motto "the few and the proud".. That may not be nice but its blunt

Ok in a nutshell.. No they can not make you go no nothing will happen to you and I'd go toe to toe with someone who said otherwise they are flat out lieing if they say otherwise and they know it but think about it if they said you could just not show up and nothing would happen to you a lot of others would chicken out and not go either.. its a way of keeping people to their word.

you signed a binding contract with the US government. You now have to go. If you get a general discharge your not gonna become a cop. Plus if you go to boot camp your guaranteed a job as a cop because of your training. your better of going or you'll go to a FEDERAL PRISON. plus you are part of the US government you took the oath of enlistment.

To be completely honest with you, NO, you don not have to go. However, there was a part of you that wanted to enlist, which led you to walk into the office in the first place. Everyone gets a little nervous prior to going. you ask your self, am i doing the right thing, will i make it, or i don't want to go to war. everyone has second thought about going to boot camp.

One thing to keep in mind when you are making you decision whether to go or not. When you go to the police academy, will you also drop out before you go? You maybe setting a trend for the future. try to stick to your word, you will find out that you can accomplish anything, no matter how nervous you maybe about the new experience. this is not a lecture by any means, i just want you to understand that the recruiter worked hard to get you in and was counting on you shipping to boot camp. speak to your parent and set up a meeting with the recruiters NCOIC (Commission Officer In Charge) he will be able to help you out, he has release you from your contract.

A mans/woman's word is what make them. If they can't Trust your word, you will always be looking for a new job.

You don't want to be that guy or lady that will always ask themselves "could i have made it." Good luck in your decision

all u have to do is tell ur recruiter that u dont want to go anymore because ur not their property until u step on that airplane to goto boot camp

there is nothing you can do. if you do not go you will be charged with going a wall. which is unexcused absence. you can get jail time for that and no, you will not be able to get a job with any government position or a cop.
