To whom this may concern,
I am writing this letter with anticipation that you will reconsider my financial aid for the Spring 2011 semester. I have always known that I wanted to attend and excel in college after graduating high school, unfortunately personal and financial issues created a road block for me. I was financially unstable at the beginning of the school year and worried about how I was gonna pay for school and how I would buy the books I needed for my classes on time. When I finally did have the funds, my classes were paid, but the books I needed weren’t available. In addition I had a lot of personal issues that made it extremely difficult to focus in school. I worried a lot about my grandmother who suffered a massive heart attack in November of 2009, she survived but was very ill due to later on needing a tracheotomy in the beginning of 2010. My grandfather who had always been a provider has been unable to work since he is my grandmother’s primary caretaker. I felt very overwhelmed with school, and helping to take care and it was just not what I expected to deal with during the school year.
I realize that I did not excel in the fall 2010 semester, however I am willing to continue on my educational journey. The fall 2010 semester was a learning experience for me and I plan to put forth those lessons to reach my educational goals. I believe with the support of my family, and my grandmothers health improving, aided by the motivation and focus I have to succeed that I will be able to accomplish my educational goals.
I can assure you, that you will not be disappointed in your decision to reinstate my financial aid for the Spring 2011 semester. I will work my hardest and not allow any distractions. This has been such a learning experience and having financial aide will facilitate a lot during my school year. I plan to carefully read my course’s syllabus, know each professor's expectations and grading style, and stay on track. Im going to try to do better than the minimum expected requirements and better myself for my future. I will contact my instructor if there is something I do not understand or if I have any doubts or questions about any course materials. Please allow me a second chance to prove that I can achieve academic excellence. I thank you in advance for you time and considerations regarding my appeal.
