Hello everyone, i'm trying to figure out the connections for a line out converter. The plan is to change the speakers to aftermarket speakers, add 2 amps, 1 amp to power the 4 speakers and 1 amp to power a 12" sub. The thing is i want to keep the factory deck as newer cars tend to put a lot of the controls and other features into the factory deck, such as oil levels, mileage, etc. Which is why i want to keep this deck, the system is not being done for competition or anything, just to upgrade the system enough so it sounds good.
Now i'm looking for a good LOC online at a couple of car audio sites, i live in canada and futureshop (equivalent to best buy) sells a peripheral by stinger LOC and i've been looking at all of these, some are 2 channel some are 4 channel, but everytime i look at these the connections just confuse me.
Some places i check they say to tap into the rear speaker, some people say to tap into the wires behind the cd deck. It confuses me cause if i tap into the rear speakers, how exactly do i turn on the amp? a speaker wont turn on an amp, a remote turn on would. I'm completely new to car audio when it comes to working with the factory deck, as for aftermarket products i can do a pretty damn good job. If anyone can help me with a step by step guide or links or anything that can help me figure this out. Please dont ask about what i plan on using for speakers and subs as that's completely irrelevant to my question. What matters to me is how to hook up a LOC in full detail, where to hook it up, how to get it so the amp turns on with the stereo, pictures would be appreciated, any help i can get would be truely appreciated. Also please dont tell me to search sites like 12volt and such, as you're just sending me on a wild goose chase, which is what i've been doing for the past 72 hours trying to figure this out. However if you can help me by direct links to the help i need that would be very appreciated. Thanks again.
