i am going to debate tomorrow on the book The Scarlet Letter. i am the opener and i don't know how to start. My team is saying that Chillingworth is an evil man. I know the opener introduces the topic. But i don't know what to do. i mean i am just going to say he is evil and give some of his characteristics like saying he is a liar, etc. But that will only take one sentence and i've heard that the opener reads a whole entire paragraph. Please help. Give me ideas, i know some of you haven't read the scarlet letter, but my teacher said that in the introduction i don't have to give away what the exact points of arguement are.
