I need to write a paper about the author Jon Krakaur of the book "Into the Wild". It says to use psychological literary theory/criticism to characterize the author. If you have read this book please help me. I haven't read it yet, but I'm trying now i just have little time. I have researched psychological literary criticism and it says:
- an authors internal conflict is caused by a struggle to fit into society because of hidden unacceptable desires or fears, often caused by personal trauma
- this internal conflict expresses itself in many ways such as depression, mental illness, emotional disturbance, “abnormal” sexual activity, drug and alcohol abuse, obsessions, violence, etc.
- Ask why the author created such a text, particularly focusing on what may have been unconscious motivations
Please if you have read this book and would like to share your knowledge, or you know any specific information of jon krakaur, please share it with me. If you want to help more with the psychological literary criticism you can research it or click this link: http://www.mccd.edu/faculty/pirov/Engl1B/Psychological_files/frame.htm
thank you for your help!
