So here is the deal. I love Kim Harrison and Patricia Briggs books. (Rachel Marianna Morgan & Mercy Thompson) I also like Laurell K Hamilton (both Anita Blake and Merry) but I feel those are becoming a bit to pornish for me. I need another great author (or a couple) that write in these styles with strong women fighting off evil. Please help direct me to some new books to read. I read very fast and therefor I run out of books lol and am left a little bummed and bored.
I'm not really in to the sex and romance though a little thrown in the book is okay. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.
I started reading Anne Rice when I was eight - my first book report at age nine was on Interview with the Vampire. ;) Scared my classmates a little bit lol. I'm not looking to read anymore of hers as they are to in depth. I want something that has a woman in charge like the three books I mentioned.
Twilight was wonderful and I have read all the books. :)

Already been suggested by a few others but I can recommend Anne Rice. Ever seen the film 'Queen of the Damned'? That's based on one of her novels I think, or at least on the 'Interview with a Vampire' series.

Anne Rice is great she wrote Interview With Vampire. I know you said you are not into romance but I really enjoyed the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer.

A series of 3 books called The Mortal Instruments.
the first book is City of Bones
the second is City of Ashes
and the third is City of Glass
:)

Anne Rice, she has Vampire and witch Chronicles(separate collection). You should know one or two, Interview With a Vampire, and Queen of the Damned. Also of course the Twilight series, can't remember who writes it right now. Not vampire but there are some plus many other strange creature's in Stephen King's The Gunslinger(The Dark Tower) series. Hope some of these help.

This isn't a series, but I came across a book called Wolfsbane and Mistletoe...it is full of warewolf short stories, one is even by Charlaine Harris...or whatever her name is that writes the Sooky Stackhouse books. I am not much for grousome stories, nor the sex scenes...there are a few scenes that are too much for me in the book, but most of the stories are pretty fun to read. One good thing about it, if it is one that you don't like, skip it and move onto the next short story. That is about the only one that I can think of, as I am not much into vampire and werewolf stories...
