My transmission is shot on my Mazda 6, I don't have the money to fix it so I figured I will try and trade it in well for a little while, I was out of a job and I got behind on about four of my credit cards, which totals about 4k. So they are on my credit report and bringing my score down since now its in collections. I am slowly paying them off but I am stuck because I want to get a new car but no one will finance me in this economy. Also, I am upside down on my car I owe about 3k than what its worth. I asked my credit union the one I've with for years, never late on a car payment or a personal loan I have with them and they still denied my for a new car loan along with another personal loan to fix my transmission. I did finally find a car dealership to finance me but then the same problem my stupid trade, they won't put the negative equity into a new car. I don't know what to do, every time I think I found a solution another disappointment. Any advice as to what I should do please help, I am trying one more time to go to my credit union and speak to a manager and see if he can work something out.

Thanks

There are car dealers out there willing to finance you without necessarily going through your credit report. So, go out there, get the most reasonably priced vehicle for your budget ( a car that will take you from point A to point B, work, school etc), and then work to clean up you credit mess a step at a time. Does your car have warranty? Draw up some objectives on how how you'll pay off your credit cards, car note etc Once your credit score starts improving, you definitely will get some positive feedback from your credit union.
