...HELP!!!? Ok so I am 18 now and enlisted in the Army as an Airborne Infantry for three years. Me and my girlfriend have been really good friends for about 3 years and will have been dating one and half years since by the time i am scheduled to leave. I was recently diagnosed with mild bipolar disorder (i had treated my gf like shit for about 2 months before i realized there was something wrong with me and went and got help) and she broke up with me for only a month til i got help. I talked to my recruiter and he said he wont say a word if i still wana join the Army as long as i am stable without meds, but that if i want out thats a possibility too. So now i am having second thoughts about enlisting and am unsure what to do...heres my options....
1)go into the Army for 3 years and make it work with my gf the best i can2
2)go to college (which will still be 1 1/2 hours from where she will b going) and get a degree in fire science.
My gf told me to do whatever it is that makes me happy, she said she will remain my gf and not end it as long as we r both happy. Im not sure if either of us would be happy going 4-6 months without seeing each other though and i DONT WANT TO LOSE HER! I LOVE her with all my heart. And then theres also the possibility if i leave and she gets lonely she might start seeing other guys behind my back if i am not there to comfort and support her. I have no idea what to do. She said she would like it if we remained in contact throughout it all as friends, but i dont want to get her back after shes slept around b/c we were each others firsts and hoping to be each others only's. HELLLLLPPPP!!! haha
