If anyone is kind enough to provide me with an answer to my two question I would very much appreciate it.
a) Describe why, despite Thomas Malthu's prediction, certain parts of the world have enjoyed steadily increasing standards of living?

b)He believe poverty should be left alone. Why?

He assumed that the population would grow faster than the food supply because of the limited amount of land so that there was no way to avoid large numbers of people dying of starvation.

What he did not take into account that when people left the land to work in factories children became a burden so the birth rates fell and productivity was increased causing goods in general and the food supply to increase faster than the population.

I think he thought that nothing effective could be done about poverty.
