hi... i'm 17 and living in anchorage alaska. i just moved here 6 weeks ago and i don't have anywhere else to go. im living with my older brother in a trailer park until i can get on my feet and i have a full time job. my brother does not have legal custody of me, and my mother kicked me out (she lives in oregon and i want nothing to do with her.) im trying to do my best, but i have to go get 12 more credits of schooling in order to get my diploma. GED is not an option. my work hours are from 4-11:30 at least 5 days a week and i make about 900 dollars a month.
enough with the history. here's the problem. i need to get my own apartment. i have to move out of my brother's place by january 15th. i also need a good vehicle that will last me for a year or two or until i can afford a better one. i'm trying to save up, but i have to buy groceries for myself and 2 other grown people. i also pay rent and have to buy everything i need to live off of. 900 a month is not a lot to live off of and save for my own life.
my question to all you folks out there is how do i make this work??? quitting my job for school is not an option, and because i haven't lived here very long i don't know anyone here except the people i work with.
does anyone have any advice as to how to make this work? i need a place to live and a vehicle within 7 months. that's not a lot of time to figure everything out.
please do not leave rude or discouraging remarks. i'm asking for only positive and REALISTIC advice.
thank you to those who care enough to comment.
