My grandma made a will & everything was left to my dad, who has now passed away. I am my fathers NEXT OF KIN & my grandma has a bad case of Dementia & probably wont be able to update the will since she is not mentally stable. What do I do to help this situation so it doesn't go to probate?? or get taken away by the IRS. My dad has never filed taxes or paid back child support payments. Do all the assets go to me since I am his next of kin?

In WA if a named beneficiary predeceases the grantor under a will, specific bequests go to the beneficiary's next of kin.

You can retain a trusts & estates attorney and file a petition to be named guardian for your grandmother. Whether an estate has to go to probate depends on the size of the estate. There is a threshold of $100K (I believe) that permits you not to go to probate, but you should check with an attorney who handles this sort of thing on a regular basis, which I do not.

Good Luck
