I need advice on dieting (for a pre-professional dancer)?

~try to eat slower this will make you feel fuller quicker.
~drink lots of water, cut out sodas, and juices can have a lot of sugar too, so make sure you read the labels.
~when eating a salad use a light dressing, and don't load up on dressing either
~try eating carrots or celery as a snack instead of chips or something
~ if you feel hungry try chewing a sugar free mint flavored gum, because the chewing will be like eating, and the mint flavor makes you less hungry.
~ use smaller plates when eating, it will make your made think that you have ate more than you really have.
 
So my instructor told me that I need to lose at least 10 pounds for our next performance in June. I'm a lead role and he said I have to be fit and firm. What should I do? I'm sort of freaking out because I'm not sure how else to eat. I consume around 1,200 calories a day and it's all healthy foods. Should I eat less than that? I just need some advice :)
