I have TB vaccinated when I was young, therefore everytime I get Mantoux test (mandatory for my work), I will always have false positive result. When I took the test for the first time I was sent to get an X-ray and it confirmed that I did not have TB. Since I have extremely sensitive skin the redness was very big and concerned the nurses there. Then a few years later I had to get it done again per requirements for work. This time the doctor was much informed about Mantoux test and he told me that the previous doctor/nurses read it wrong because they measured the whole redness and not the lump in the middle of the redness. So i did not have to go and get an x-ray. The result was exactly the same and with two completely different readings. Now I went back again (a few years later) and the nurses were freaking out because the red mark was big. I explained to them that this is my normal reaction and they were only supposed to measure the lump, which i did not have. It was completely smooth, which means it supposed to be a negative result. BUT they were adamant that they were right. I'm very healthy person and never really being sick. Since I work in Mental health field, I am required to have this test every 2 years. I'm very frustrated because they don't even attempt to hear me out. They sent me to go and get x-ray. I requested to have a blood test for pregnancy because I'm 3 weeks behind and having some symptoms. They refused to do blood test because i told them all of my home pregnancy tests came back negative. I explained to them that in rare cases home pregnancy tests can be wrong and I wanted to be sure before going to get an x-ray. The nurse gave me very hard time and i practically had to begged to get one. But she told me that I HAD to take their urine test first, so I did. Then she tells me that because I took their urine test and it was negative I have to pay for the pregnancy blood test. I'm extremely frustrated and feel I don't have any say in what happens to my body. any advice?
