I need a webcam for chat in sign language. Should I buy Microsoft 6000?

It is obviously very important that the picture is very clear and precise and has no delay or jerkiness. Is the microsoft lifecam 6000 from amazon good enough? I don't want to be lumbered with something that is too tiring for my child to communicate thru at speed. Can you help?
 
I've just read a review of this particular webcam and it looks to be very good. The one thing I wasn't too happy to read is that because it is a Microsoft product, it is geared to work specifically with Windows Live Messenger. That's all well-and-good if you use Windows Live Messenger, but if you want to use it on any other chat programme, things might not be so good. So with that in mind, you might need to look at some other webcams. Logitech do a very good range and they are generally much cheaper and better than Microsofts' own products. I've been using a Logitech webcam for nearly 3 years and never had a problem with it.
