I need a sports car for under $5K.?

I want a fast (or potentially fast) car that I can have fun driving. I have a '95 Subaru Impreza L AWD, and it's not fast enough (100HP). Throw out ideas, I've exhausted all of mine. No FWD cars, please. FWD cars are econo-cars, not sports cars.
