I have a 1988 toyota camry, recently, the brake lights and running lights totally went out. I checked everything from the bulbs, the fuses, and i even changed that stupid brake light switch. I looked harder on the internet and found out what the real problem was, the problem is this thing called the "Tail Light Outage Sensor", it is a small yellow box about the size of a tape measure located right underneath the antenna kind of inside the frame of the trunk. This thing is supposed to not allow both of your brake lights to go out at once, but obviously, it didn't work. My dad is an electrician and after a few different test and confirmed that this was indeed the problem. The only problem is, I cant find a new one (or used for that matter) for sale anywhere! All of the local junkyards are sold out, and the specific toyota dealerships want over $200 for this extremely cheesy piece, and there is no way i am spending that kind of money. Does anyone know where i can get one for less? Or any fixes that work? Or does anyone have any experience on the matter? Anything would be great thanks
i have been to many of these auto parts online stores and none of them seem to have it. Unless I am calling it by the wrong name or something

is the link the other guy said.

If it were mine, (or if my dad were an electrician) I would bypass, and eliminate it! If dad can verify it's bad, he should be able to figure how to bypass it!
