I need a poets help with this poem?

Of all human emotions, grief is one of the most difficult to express adequately. I need to think of an image from nature that could be used to describe a feeling of great sorrow. Any ideas?

the vast emptiness, the absolute loneliness, the stark numbness of the arctic

the sound from nature that i feel is sorrowful is the wale of ice, when ice rubs against itself it makes a noise that sounds like a female waling in immense sorrow/grief

A tree in a winter storm.

A fallen tree....?
A mother mountain lion killed by a hunter and 3 young babies are waiting for her to return with food.

A hurricane

 

[Heavens Spirit]

The melting ice caps and a polar bear struggling with her young one in the water with no place to get out of the water......inevitable death.
