Hi there, one of my best guy friends has been dating his girlfriend for almost 2 years. However, he is turning 18 next week and she will be 17. I'm thinking that it classifies as statutory rape, but I was wondering if it still does because she is also turning 18 this year. Thank you for your time! :)
Um Sirk L I definitely said she's turning 18 this year. They were both born in 1991 they have different birthdays .
Lol no I'm to tryig to get his woman, he doesn't have an account so I decided to post it!
This is in Rhode Island but people have been charged here before even though the age of consent is like 16.

The previous answerer isn't a lawyer. Had he been a lawyer he would have explained to you that there has to be proof of sexual intercourse between the two, before a charge of statutory rape can be laid.
It's not enough for you to assume that they have had sex, it must be proven in order for a rape charge to be admissible.

Yes, it is rape in the first degree, an offense punishable by firing squad, and you are an accomplice. You should seriously reconsider your affiliation with your friend
