i need a lawyers advice on custody im not on birth cirtificate?

my ex and i split before the baby was born the baby is now 6 months old and i want to see her but the mother won't let me i am not on the birth cirtificate and i don't have alot of money can i still get partial custody to see my baby girl? what do i need to do ?
ok a few extra details i forgot to mention... 1 we were never married. 2 she lives in Alabama i live in Kentucky. 3 i have a job but i am laid off at the moment and not sure when i will get to work again i am working odd jobs to bring in some money but i don't have a lot,
 
you need to get your a$$ off the computer and into a lawyers office. if you want your child bad enough you will work two jobs if you have to ....
so, GET MOVING!!!
 
question:do u hav proof of divorce. If you do have proof of divorce which is a statement sayin that u were married but r now seperated,that is evidence sayin that you r the babys father. you could also for more proof get a dna test so if other lawyers say"well the baby could be from another guy and not u" well by comparing ur dna wit the babys dna you would have proof that the babys urs.(if u know ur wife well enough)no offense :) Present all of that to ur lawyer and this will help u get some rights to see ur baby. hope this helps.

Oh and im studying pre law so I think this will work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
File a paternity suit. They will do DNA testing and if you are her father, you can get parental rights and you may be required to pay child support.
 
1st go get a paternity test to see if the baby is yours. you can go to the court and ask for one. if the judge agrees then you will get one. Then sue for custody try to find a local lawyer who will work for cheap.
