I am currently using the Motorola Razr and I also have the sidekick 3. No sk jokes please.

I am interesting in getting a Treo. I've been eye'n it for a while. Now, which one do you recommend?? I like the Treo 680 but I've been reading here that most folks say get the Treo 750. For those with the knowledge, could you give me the pro's and con's of each.

love ya much

680 runs Palm OS, the 750 runs Windows Mobile....depends on what you want and what you like...some say they like Palm over Windows and some people say they like Windows over Palm....best thing to do is think of what you want the phone to do and what you need it for and look at the third party apps and then go from there

you're right. I didn't think of that. I just know I want a different phone than what I normally get. But I want also some of the advantages that the sk gives me. Like getting my email, calender, etc. And I love the idea of a touch screen and stuff.

Neither of them are better. They are both prone to random reboots for no reason.

If you want a grown up phone, get a Blackberry

If email is the most important...or the only important thing to you, Blackberry does email better than most. You can dress up a Blackberry with chrome sides, trackballs, blue & red plastic...and all that, but in the end...it's still a Blackberry, and if you want a phone that does anything else well besides email...there are better choices.

Having had the Samsung Blackjack and the Palm Treo 750 for a while...I can say with conviction that I hate the Windows Mobile OS with a passion...although I must say that Samsung does a pretty good job of it...much better than the Treo. The Treo 750 is the Treo that most people love to hate...with a huge number of glitches and issues, most of which have been around from the first release day...and have never been resolved.

I have had the Treo 680, with the tried and true Palm OS for several months of daily use and love it. It has an amazing support umbrella online...since the Palm OS has been around for a long time. And, although the phone has some quirks...like any other, they are easy to work around and are few compared to the 750 and other smartphones. The phone is easily modified with hundreds of 3rd-party software apps that can be quickly downloaded...to make your Treo 680 whatever you want it to be, and do pretty much anything yuo want it to do.

I was totally intimidated by the prospect of a steep learning curve going from regular mobile phones to a smartphone...but the Treo 680 has made that minimal at the very worst. I cannot say that at all about the Treo 750 and the Windows Mobile OS. It is a bear to learn...and hard to enjoy.

For a "grown-up phone" that is also good looking...the Treo 680!!

My favorite internet / messaging device is the E61i. You can see my review in my sig. It does everything well and connects to BBC and Exchange.

Yes you can assign different ringtones to each person...you can use mp3 ringtones with MiniTones and under the Treo contact management you can add the different ringtones for each person

If I was to replace my Samsung i730 with a Cingular PDA, it would be the 8525.

Palm OS is good too, like davis explained. I had a Treo 650 for a little bit and Palm OS is a good OS, the only thing is it can get boring after awhile. It is very stable and responsive though.

LOL shouldnt have wasted your money, you coulda got a REAL HTC phone for the same price. hell even the HTC wizard or Jamin would of been better

I wish you luck with the Palm device. I hope you won't be sending it back shortly. The Palm 680 is still a Palm device with the (old and archaic) Palm O/S and also very prone to random reboots and other issues. I had 3 Treo 600s and a 650 before giving up. No way would I go back.

I disagree that a BB is only good as an email device. I have an 8700c and use it for voice, email, surfing, contacts, calendar, etc. The O/S is rock solid and I have very few issue with it. If I do, I pull the battery for 30 seconds or so and all is well again.

Everyone is going to say weither the phone OS they use is better than the other. Some people have used both and like both, some like one or the other, etc..yes Palm is outdated in some aspects. Yes almost every OS has random reboots for whatever the matter is. Most of the time it's the software that is added one that causes it to crash not the OS itself. Some people don't need the ability that WM or Palm has so they go with a BB. BB's are stepping up but if you look at the third party applications compared to Palm and WM they are alittle behind, but they should be picking up soon due to the new BB's out with camera's and media capibilities.

Most of the reboots that both WM and Palm have can be troubleshooted down to the program and the cause. There are various programs out for both that can log whatever is the cause of the reboot. It's just like the constant Mac and PC debate...some people are always going to talk bad about the other for whatever reason They dont like it/need it. Same with the Sidekick3/MDA threads that were out when the Sidekick3 came out...alot of dirt slinging about which device is better....it's up to the user to decide which device would be better for them on what they want/need in the device.
