My name is Maria and I'm 25 years old, however I feel like 75 years old.
I have being unable to work since January 16,2009. I was pregnant when I felt. Two weeks after having my baby, I went to the doctor because I was having severe pain in my lower back and I could not do much around. After x-rays and 2 MRI's they found that I have 2 protruded discs that are pinching the nerve root. The disc L5 is pinching the left side and the S1 is pinching the right side. I for the past 8 months I have being seen doctor, going to physical therapy and having to go to the hospital way to many times. I also had to get a pain relieve shout in my back.
In July I decided to go to Bernice who is a doctor and chiropractic that specializes in neurological problems. I go around 4 times a week for therapy. I have being in the hospital because of the pain and because my left leg was falling sleep to often. I can not do much. I wake up with pain and I go to sleep with pain. Dr. Bernice found out I have spondylolysis and I had reumatic fever while I was a child and have scoliosis, makes my life a little bit harder to get around.
I have migraine that have sent me to the hospital twice in the past 2 years. I also had problems with my sugar and the beginnig of and stroke on June 2008.
I have 2 kids and I have to provide for them. They are 6 months old and 2 years old. I want to get better, but my body is not helping me. I find myselft trap and depresed sometimes and I do not find any help. I do not have medical insurance and medicaid has being really hard to get to cover me. They cover my 2 kids, but I'm trying to see if they can give me some kind of cover so I can go to a neurologist and a neurosurgeon that was what my primary doctor told me to do.
